Bill to Create National Health Care Introduced in Congress

House Resolution 676 introduced by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) to create a national health care system for all U.S. residents. It has been referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce. If you support the creation of a national health care system, call, write or email your Congressman and Senators and tell them to support this bill.

I would love to urge my Congresswoman and Senators to support such a bill, but I fear it would be a futile effort and waste of precious time. None of our state's representatives in Washington will give such a proposal the time of day. I'll certainly continue to do my part to support such a proposal, but I have to find ways to do it through channels outside of our own Washington delegation.h

I know what you mean, Brad. Oklahoma is too ideologically conservative to give such an idea the time of day. I am not even sure that Dan Boren, who is in a pretty safe Democratic seat would support it, but he is the one Oklahoma Congressman who might be persuaded to support it.

Most of the votes would have to come from the coasts or northeast part of the country.
